Season 11 starts off with our first-ever Shakespeare production–a classic tragedy that on the surface doesn’t appear to have much redeeming value. But the redeeming value of Macbeth stems from the power of the cautionary tale it heralds. For Christmas, we’re bringing back the popular new adaptation of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol by Emily C.A. Snyder which we premiered three years ago to great acclaim. In early 2025 we’ll be bringing back yet another popular play from three years ago, Frassati, for a special 2-week limited engagement, followed by the long-awaited U.S Premiere of Tolkien by Ron Reed, originally slated to be performed in the spring of 2020. Season 11 will conclude with the latest original drama by Founder & Artistic Director, Jeremy Stanbary.

MACBETH by William Shakespeare
October 4 – 30, 2024
Directed by Joe Hendren

One of the most renowned cautionary tales ever to grace the stage, this classic Shakespeare tragedy dramatizes with remarkable poignancy the disastrous effects of political ambition on those who seek power for personal gain. The Scottish general, Macbeth, receives a prophecy that he will become King of Scotland. Overtaken by ambition and driven to do the unthinkable by his wife, Macbeth murders the King and ascends the throne. The tyranny and bloodshed that follow eventually lead to the downfall and demise of both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, making for a thrilling stage production that ranks among Shakespeare’s most popular plays.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL by Emily C.A. Snyder
December 6 – 30, 2024
Directed by TBD

Our 4,000 SF walk-through Christmas display returns this year along with the audience-favorite adaptation of A Christmas Carol that we first premiered three years ago. Ebenezer Scrooge has no time for Christmas or the Christ in this new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ holiday classic, featuring such beloved carols as “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Silent Night,” and more!

Every ticket includes access to our immersive Christmas display, which includes an extensive Saint Nicholas/Santa Claus collection, an ever-growing Christmas Village collection, a vintage Snowman collection, several gorgeous Nativity displays, multiple lit Christmas trees, and more!

FRASSATI by Jeremy Stanbary
Limited Run: January 9-19, 2025

Our 2021 hit drama, Frassati, returns for a limited engagement this January to kick off the new year! NOTE: This show is not included in our standard season ticket packages, but COR Patrons can see it for free as an additional membership perk.

This original drama by Founding Artistic Director, Jeremy Stanbary, premiered in the Fall of 2021 and met with a nearly 90% sold-out run. It tells the inspiring true story of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, a young Italian man of privilege at the turn of the 20th century who lived his life to the fullest and ended up sacrificing everything in hidden service to the poor.

2025 marks the centennial anniversary of his death. Over the past 100 years, Frassati’s life story has spread to every corner of the globe, inspiring countless people the world over.

TOLKIEN by Ron Reed
February 28 – March 30, 2025
Directed by Joe Hendren

Originally scheduled for production in the spring of 2020, we are finally giving this fabulous play the U.S. Premiere it deserves!

Legends in wait, the worlds of Narnia and Middle Earth may never have come to be were it not for an unlikely friendship between J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. Over thirty years they pushed each others’ imaginations, faith, and curiosity, growing together – and eventually growing apart.

Tolkien was given its professional premiere at the Pacific Theatre in Vancouver, Canada. Our production in Season 11 will be the first in the United States.

JOAN OF ARC by Jeremy Stanbary
April 25 – May 25, 2025
Directed by Jeremy Stanbary and TBD

Season 11 concludes with the latest original play by OWT Founding Artistic Director, Jeremy Stanbary.

Stanbary’s unique, relatable, captivating saint dramas (Mercy Unrelenting, Lolek, Frassati, Nicholas) have become a staple of Open Window Theatre and our redemptive mission in the arts, exploring the darkness of the human condition through a lens of hope illuminated by beauty. Over the past two millennia, the heroic and inspiring lives of saints have captured the intrigue and imagination of people from all walks of life–perhaps none more so than Saint Joan of Arc, described by Mark Twain as “easily and by far the most extraordinary person the human race has ever produced”.
